I was approached by a friend with the idea of aggregating all of those really cool things to do that were inexpensive and fun and put them all on one site. The end result is http://www.sckidsactivities.com and so far it's been a lot of fun to develop this site with Carrie Wooden who is the one behind all of the fun and frivolity that your kids are after. We're just starting off right now but give us time and we'll be up and running full speed. Here's a list of what we're hoping to get filled out:
- Restaurant reviews from restaurants that are children friendly. Who in the hell wants to go eat at a restaurant with your kids and have the evil stares of stuffed shirt conservative fuddy duddies telling you with their eyes to get lost? Not me that's for sure.
- A calendar of events from libraries, to museums, to parks, to whatever that cater to kids events and their parents.
- A forum where any registered user can post about their experiences at activities or while eating meals in the restaurants that have been reviewed. The forum will eventually expand to all areas of kids activities and as long as you are a registered member and you remember to "keep it clean" you'll be able to weigh in on all of the events going on that have been reviewed by our moderators (read Carrie's children).
- An online directory of all the places and businesses that enjoy having the kids around. This directory is only going to be filled with businesses that truly are "kid friendly" and no group or organization that doesn't fulfill this philosophy will be allowed to be listed.
I'm looking for some more ideas for websites, so if you have any projects that you would like to see come to fruition let me know and we can see if we can make it happen for you. Thanks for reading.
